Today mine coolant temp gauge started to flucuate anywhere the place... Never ever went above center however at idle the went down around to the following line and also as shortly as ns hit the gas the crawled ago up to center in around 5 seconds... Figure I would shot to replace that as a cheap feasible fix first... If not, maybe a cooler thermostat will help me out!!

Well if you have actually a 5.7 or 6.1, it"s on the driverside, front, look down simply to the best and ago of the throttle body on the block.

You are watching: 5.7 hemi coolant temperature sensor location

Hahaha, yes it is a 5.7... I store forgetting that ns am on a forum that has actually cars the came with multiple engines... Unlike my Audi that came v a 1.8 or a 2.8 and only the 1.8 guys really talk around anything...

Coolant level is 1" above the "Full" note when cold... Ns just had the short coolant concentration TSB done 4,000 miles ago. And in those 4,000 miles it didn"t ever act up at all... Particularly my 15 mile of 130 mph cruising... I just smelled hot transmission ~ that!! (Bad me)

thermostat falling apart, maybe???do you have a scan tool to screen ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor once this happens?

although ns still doubt the sensor chin is causing this, below is the remove instructions native FSM:
